1 / 6Tally is an online form builder for anyone who needs to collect information, from solo creators and students to startups and large teams. Instead of dragging boxes around, you type: the editor works like a text document, and you add questions, ratings, file uploads, payments or signatures with a slash command. The result is a clean form you can share as a link, embed on a site or open as a popup, and you can use it for surveys, sign-ups, quizzes, order forms and more. Tally was launched in 2020 by Marie Martens and Filip Minev, born out of frustration with expensive form builders. Its big idea is generosity: unlike most rivals, the free plan has no caps on forms or submissions. The Belgian company is made and hosted in the EU, has grown to about 2.5 million users and is still fully bootstrapped, with a team of 10. It writes openly about its numbers on its blog, which has made it a favourite among indie founders. Recent additions include Tally AI, an optional assistant that helps build forms and logic, and an MCP server that lets assistants like Claude and ChatGPT create forms and analyze responses. Highlights: • Doc-style editor with slash commands and answer piping through mentions • Unlimited forms and submissions on the free plan, within fair use • Conditional logic, calculations, hidden fields and quiz scoring • Payments, e-signatures and file uploads built in • Integrations with Google Sheets, Notion, Airtable, Slack, Zapier, Make and webhooks • Optional Tally AI and an MCP server for building forms from AI assistants • Forms in 45+ languages, password protection and closing by date or limit The free plan already includes most features. Pro, shown at US$24 a month on yearly billing, removes Tally branding and adds custom domains, unlimited team members, partial submissions, custom CSS, workspaces and drop-off analytics. Business, at US$74 a month, adds email verification, automatic deletion of submissions and longer version history. Tally runs in the browser, and forms work on any device.
