Sprite Fusion is a tilemap editor for designing 2D game levels in your browser. You drag in any tileset, paint your map with single or multiple tiles, and export it straight into your game engine. It is aimed at indie developers, game jam teams, students and tabletop game masters who want to build levels quickly without wrestling with a heavyweight editor. Its focus is simplicity and art direction: the interface stays out of the way so you can concentrate on how the level looks. Auto-tiling and smart fill handle terrain edges for you, and one-click exports produce native Unity packages, Godot scenes or Defold assets that you can drop into your project with no custom code. Sprite Fusion is made by French developer Hugo Duprez and has grown into a small suite that now includes an AI pixel art generator and animator and a Pixel Snapper tool that cleans up off-grid pixel art. It says it is used by universities, studios and indie developers, and it has an active Discord community. Highlights: • Import any tileset by drag and drop or clipboard paste • Intuitive tile painting with single or multiple tile selections • Built-in auto-tiling, smart fill and collision setup • One-click export to Unity, Godot and Defold, plus JSON, TMX and PNG • UVTT export for virtual tabletops such as Foundry VTT and Roll20 • Native support for tilesets created in PixelLab • Gallery of free tilesets to start from The web edition is free forever for personal and commercial use, with unlimited projects and no login, but map exports are limited to 4.5 MB. The Desktop Edition, for Mac and Windows, is a one-time purchase currently US$14.99 (regularly US$19.99) and adds offline use, faster exports, unlimited map size and lifetime updates. The pixel art generator is a separate web tool.
