1 / 6micasa is a terminal app for keeping track of everything about your home: maintenance schedules, projects, appliances, contractors, quotes and what you have spent. It answers the questions every homeowner eventually asks, like when the furnace filter was last changed or which plumber you used last time. It is for people who live in the terminal and would rather keep their house records in a fast, local tool than in another cloud app. micasa was created in 2026 by Phillip Cloud and is written in pure Go, with the interface built on the Charmbracelet libraries and a design inspired by VisiData. All your data lives in a single SQLite file on your own machine, with no cloud, no account and no subscription. It can optionally answer questions about your data through a local language model, but it stays offline until you decide otherwise. The project is open to contributions, including AI-assisted ones, as long as they are reviewed. Highlights: • Maintenance schedules with due dates and full service history • Projects tracked from first idea to completion, or graceful abandonment • Side-by-side vendor quotes with the numbers to help you decide • Searchable records of every contractor, quote and job • Appliances, documents and incident tracking for the whole house • Vim-style modal keys, sortable columns, fuzzy column jumping and drill-down into related records • Optional questions over your data through a local LLM • A built-in demo mode with sample data to try it out micasa is free and open source under the Apache License 2.0. Install it with Go, or download a ready-made binary for Linux, macOS or Windows.
